Antiques, books and collectables will replace nets and shuttlecocks this weekend at the Ballarat Badminton Associations first collectables and antiques fair at its Dowling Street facilities.
Len Vincent from the Ballarat Badminton Australia Association is using the huge indoor space to hold a not-for-profit event to help resurface the floor of the stadium.
A large collection of stamps, coins, crafts and new and secondhand books from all around Ballarat will be on displace and “if people wear a scarf they will win a free prize,” Mr Vincent said.
With more than 50 stall holders, the centre will be full of antique-lovers and experts.
“It’s a great charitable event (for the Badminton stadium),” Mr Vincent said.
The fair will open from 9am to 4pm today and tomorrow and entry is free.
