The trial for a man accused of murdering missing 46-year-old Keith Foggin is expected to span over three-weeks.
Christopher John Trotter appeared in the Supreme Court of Victoria last week, charged with the murder of Mr Foggin, who was last seen in Bacchus Marsh on September 24, 2015.
The Darley man was arrested on June 23 last year – nine-months after Mr Foggin’s disappearance.
Prosecutors say they believe the victim was killed following an altercation between Mr Foggin and the accused sometime in September 2015.
Mr Foggin is believed to have made plans to leave Victoria the day after his disappearance, in order to travel to Queensland to live with his daughter.
Police have not been able to locate the victim’s body.
Trotter has pleaded not guilty to the murder.
